Somatic practice applied to dance training represents for me a fundamental approach to establish a true relation to the outer world and accept and explore the momentum of the body moving.
A very simple consideration in Body Mind Centering but also in quantum Physics and Eastern Philosophies asserts that we do not move with our body through a space but that we move the space and the space moves us constantly. While we are moving, we establish a constant exchange flow between the inner and outer energies occurring in the dialogue between our inner and outer body.

While focusing both on Technique as well Improvisational and research Elements, the entire workshop is going to be based and structured, on and around the perception of human presence and intention. Participants are here “osmotic stimulated” to make use of their own physical intelligence to explore and play with patterns of bodily states and given scores in order to sense, to feel, to act, to aware and to track their own exploration of the body and to release their creativity and to enhance performance as a unique state of mind.

The workshop is welcoming an inclusive open-minded body for a decolonize and gender approach to performativity as for any kind of cultural and religious background, as they are all precious sources of mutual cultural enrichment.

17.45-19.15 Uhr Contemporary Training mit Juliette Rahon / Studio 1       

Im Contemporary Training Workshop erweitern wir uns über die Aufwärmung durch Stretching und Atmung um unser Center zu aktivieren. Dazu nutzen wir verschiedene Übungen aus Pilates, Tanz und Yoga. Durch Improvisation erarbeiten wir die Verbindung zwischen Körper und Geist. Wir werden ebenfalls verschiedene Techniken des Zeitgenössisches Tanz sowie Floor Work und Release explorieren um eine starke Technische Basis zu entwickeln.

19:30 -21Uhr Choreography Workshop mit Juliette Rahon / Studio 1       

Du erlebst in diesen Workshop eine choreographische Erfahrung, die die Teilnehmer in Zusammenarbeit mit Juliette entwickeln werden. Juliette wird die Teilnehmer mit verschiedenen Tasks konfrontieren, material rein geben und mit ihr zusammen Solo, und Gruppe im choreographischen Prozess erarbeiten.

« My artistic sensibility follows a multidisciplinary art form by merging dance with
music, singing and theatre. My inspiration begins very often from the music
emotions, which own a huge place in my work. Indeed I’m always searching for new
colours into the musical interpretation, which has a direct impact into the movements
qualities. »
Born in 1991 in Lyon, Juliette Rahon is a French dancer and choreographer based in
Leipzig, Germany. Juliette studied Ballet and Contemporary dance at the
« Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon », « Real Conservatoirio
Profesional de Danza Mariema » in Madrid, and at the « Iwanson International of
Contemporary Dance » in Munich.
As a performer, Juliette has been working with Kinsun Chan at the Opernhaus
Zürich, with Rosamund Gilmore at the Oper Leipzig, with Claire Lefèvre at
the Tanzquartier in Vienna, with the director Kristof Spiewok at the Schaubühne
Lindenfels Leipzig, with Heidi Weiss in Berlin, Heike Hennig and as well
with Malou Meyenhofer in Winterthur.
Juliette’s choreographic debut started in 2013 with her piece « Jeux » in Palamos,
Spain. In 2014 she is awarded with the 2. Prize at the choreographic Competition
« DanzaFirenze » in Florence for her piece « Between Reality and Insanity ». In 2016
she collaborates with two soloists of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, the harpist Gabriella
Victoria and the cellist Léonard Frey-Maibach to create the trio « Nomade ». At this
occasion the young choreographer founded the Company « Juliette Rahon & Co »
for dance and interdisciplinary arts. In 2018 the International Bach Festival Leipzig
asks the choreographer to compose a new piece « La Rencontre » for the festival. The
same year the Opera Leipzig invites Juliette Rahon & Co to perform again
« Nomade ». 2018-2019 she collaborates with the world renowned flutist Sébastian
Jacot and creates the piece « 1001 Leben » which is nominated for the « Saxonian
Dance Award » and the « Ursula-Cain-award ». During the season 2019-2020 the
Company is invited at the « Abundance International Dance Festival » in Karlstad
(Sweden), and at the « Bethlehem International Performing Arts Festival » in
Palestine. Furthermore « 1001 Leben ». Juliette Rahon & Co is invited by the
prominent cellist Julius Berger to present the duet « BOW&DY » at the
« Zukunftsforum Cello » festival in Augsburg, Germany.
Currently Juliette is working on a new production « La Dernière Sarabande – ou
l’obsolescence programmée » with one soprano singer, two cellist and four dancers.
